Clay is an Anglican priest ordained in 1982 with a background in church administration, web design and marketing. He emigrated from the U.S. to Aotearoa New Zealand in August 2005. The only difficult thing in the move was leaving two adult daughters, Sarah and Elissa, and six grandchildren behind.

There is only one thing for which I can thank George Bush. If it weren’t for his war in Iraq and his assault on the Constitution, I would’ve never found New Zealand or St Matthew’s.
Frankly, as I look back after more than four years here, if I had known St Matthew's was here and how much I would love my ministry here, I would've come sooner! It has been said that faith is its own reward. And how.
